Snyder, Partin and Eachus join Football Coaching Staff

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Football Head Coach Rob Sgarlata has announced three additions to the team's coaching staff as Kevin Snyder, Joey Partin and Shane Eachus have joined the program. Snyder will assist the defensive line while Partin will work with the offensive line and Eachus will assist with the defensive backs. 

"I am extremely excited to add three outstanding, detail-oriented teachers to our coaching staff," said Head Coach Rob Sgarlata. "All three additions bring a wealth of experience to our program. I would like to welcome Shane Eachus and his wife Christina, Joe Partin and his wife Morgan and Kevin Snyder and his wife Sarah Beth Hoover to our Hoya football family. In the short time they have been on the Hilltop I have enjoyed watching each of these talented coaches connect with our student-athletes on and off the field." 
 
Kevin Snyder
Snyder joins the Hoyas after spending the last two years as an outside linebacker and defensive end graduate assistant at Wake Forest University. Prior to coaching the Demon Deacons, Snyder spent the 2020 campaign as a player development assistant at his alma mater, Rutgers. 

The Pennsylvania native played for the Rutgers University football team from 2011-14. The former Big Ten All-Academic team member totaled 229 career tackles in his four years as a Scarlet Knight, making 25 starts at inside, weak-side and strong-side linebacker. Before getting into coaching, Snyder played in the NFL from 2015-17, spending time on five different teams' practice squads, earning call-ups to the active roster of the New England Patriots and the Denver 

"It is an honor to be in a position to represent Georgetown University," said Snyder. "The Hoya football program is rich in tradition and I look forward to being a part of this family"

Joey Partin 
Partin joins the Blue & Gray after spending one year as an offensive line graduate assistant for the University of Memphis. Partin helped the Tigers captured a 38-10 victory over Utah State in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl last season.

Partin spent the previous three seasons (2019-21) as an offensive line graduate assistant and special teams coach for Marshall University. From 2014-2019, Partin served as the tight end and h-back coach at Hampden-Sydney College.
 
"I'm extremely thankful for the opportunity to move back to my hometown and coach at an institution as prestigious as Georgetown University," said Partin. "Coach Sgarlata and the rest of his staff have been so welcoming to my wife and I, and we couldn't be more excited to be here."

Shane Eachus
Eachus joins the Hoyas after one year on the coaching staff at Houston Christian University where he served as a defensive coordinator and safeties coach. He helped the Huskies to become ranked third nationally in defensive touchdowns, ninth in takeaways, 19th in total sacks and 25th in total tackles for loss. 

Eachus spent the previous three seasons (2018-20) as a defensive graduate assistant at Oklahoma State, primarily working with the linebackers. He spent four years (2014-17) at Ursinus College, three as a defensive coordinator and secondary coach. Eachus also served as the graduate assistant and director of player relations at FCS power James Madison from 2012-14, earning a Master of Science in sport and recreation leadership.
 
A native of Aston, Pennsylvania, Eachus was a four-year letter winner at Ursinus and was a three-year starter at free safety. He was a captain for the 2011 season and was a two-time SAAC All-Centennial Conference selection. He also earned first-team academic all-America, first-team academic all-region and three-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll accolades.

"I truly believe that Georgetown University represents the best of what higher education and the student-athlete experience have to offer. I look forward to doing my part in developing our current and future Hoyas into elite students, players and men."
