Box Score WASHINGTON – Georgetown softball took down Holy Cross 4-3 after eight innings on Sunday afternoon to get the Hoyas' first win of the weekend at the The Spring Games.
 
How It Happened

• Georgetown and Holy Cross went scoreless for a full four innings to start the game. 
• The Crusaders singled to get the lead in the fifth inning and followed up with a double to left center field to make it 2-0. 
• The Hoyas took advantage of a Crusaders' fielding error in the bottom of the fifth to cut the deficit to 2-1.
• Despite landing hits in the sixth, neither side was able to cross the plate in the inning.
• Georgetown leveled the score in the seventh when Lorena Vasquez-Inzunza slipped a ball down the left field line to advance Kacy Lyman home (2-2). 
• The Hoyas defended well and limited Holy Cross to only one run in the top of the eighth from a SAC fly ball (3-2).
• Georgetown had two outs to get the tie as Mae Forshey found herself on third in the bottom of the eighth. Naya Campos stepped up and singled up the middle of the park to bring Forshey home for the Hoyas' third run (3-3).
• With Gabby Park on first, Morgan Zamora on second and Campos on third later in the inning, Brittany Lew pinch hit for Claire Turner and smacked a ball through the middle of the field and Campos crossed home to give Georgetown the 4-3 win.
