HEAD COACH PAT CONLAN
"Proud of this team for staying the course even when we fell behind early. Cam Kondo keeps coming up with big time hits and Julia Parker threw a really nice game. Every BIG EAST win is huge right now as we work to get to the tournament. I love the fight in our team and now we have a chance to go take the series tomorrow." - Head Coach Pat Conlan

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Creighton got on the board early tacking on a pair of runs in the first and adding another in the third to take the 3-0 lead.
  • Still trailing 3-0 going into the bottom of the fifth, the Hoyas were in need of some offense. With runners on second and third, Claire Turner's sacrifice fly sent Brittany Lew home and put the Hoyas on the board, trailing 3-1 with two outs.
  • Kondo lined up to the plate with a runner on second. With a full count, the graduate student homered to right center, plating a pair of runs and tallying the equalizer. The 3-3 score would hold through the scheduled seven innings.
  • In the top of the eighth, the Hoyas gave up a pair of singles to put Bluejay runners on first and second with one out. However, Julia Parker was poised in the circle and got the next two outs. leaving both runners stranded.
  • In the bottom of the eighth, and behind another full count, Kondo crushed a home run to left center for the walk-off 4-3 win.

OF NOTE
  • Kondo's star shined bright today as she went 2-for-4 at the plate with a pair of home runs and three RBIs.
  • Turner went 1-for-2 at the plate with an RBI to her name while Mae Forshey added a hit.
