Hoyas Compete at JJ Forster and Healy Cup

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown men's rowing team split sites competing in a pair of regattas this past weekend. The heavyweight squad took a victory in the Varsity 8+ race at the Healy Cup, while the lightweights faced Navy in head-to-head races for the JJ Forster Cup.

The Hoyas are currently ranked fifth in the IRCA/IRA Men's Lightweight Varsity 8+ Poll, while the Mids sit at No. 4.
The Cup is named for JJ Forster who was a Marine and Vietnam veteran who won a Purple Heart. He also coached at Georgetown for 10 years graduating in 1970.
He competed internationally including trips to the 1972 Munich Olympics and the 1974 and 1977 World Championships.
