Hoyas Travel to Face Loyola in Midweek Action; Dordevic Named BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team closes out its nonconference slate with a midweek showdown at Loyola on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Baltimore. Additionally, Tucker Dordevic was named the BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week for the fourth time this season, as announced by the league office on Monday.

About Georgetown
  • The Hoyas are 7-3 on the year and 3-0 in BIG EAST play following a 15-14 overtime win at Marquette on Saturday.
  • Tucker Dordevic led Georgetown with five goals, including the OT game-winner, to help clinch a berth for Georgetown in the upcoming BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Championship, Presented by JEEP.
  • Nicky Solomon added three goals, Jacob Kelly had two goals and two assists and Graham Bundy Jr. found the back of the cage twice as well.
  • Brian Minicus had a goal and three assists, TJ Haley dished out four assists, Aidan Carroll had a pair of helpers and both Declan McDermott and James Reilly scored once.

  • Dordevic leads the Hoyas with 39 points (33G, 6A) while Minicus has 31 (18G, 13A), Kelly adds 24 (12G, 12A) and Bundy has 23 (19G, 4A). McDermott is good for 16 (12G, 4A), Solomon has 15 (10G, 5A) and Haley has tallied 14 assists and Patrick Crogan adds 13 points (9G, 4A).
  • Reilly has won 142-of-250 (.568) faceoffs while collecting 103 ground balls. He has hauled in at least 10 ground balls in seven of Georgetown's 10 games this season.
  • Defensively, Will Bowen has been credited with 21 caused turnovers to lead the BIG EAST with 2.10 a game. Wallace Halpert adds 15 and Will Tominovich chips in 13.
  • In goal, Michael Scharfenberger has posted a 6-0 record with a 10.93 goals-against average to go with a .431 save percentage and 53 total saves. Hincks is 1-3 on the year with an 11,89 GAA to go with a .512 save percentage and 44 saves.
  • As a team, Georgetown leads the nation in man-up offense, converting at a .706 clip. The Hoyas are also top-10 nationally in ground balls per game (second overall, 39.60), clearing (second overall, .919) and fewest turnovers (fifth overall, 14.30).
Scouting Loyola
  • The Greyhounds are 6-5 on the year and are coming off of a 16-9 loss at Boston University on Saturday.
  • Matthew Minicus leads Loyola with 29 points (23G, 6A) while David Lindsey adds 28 (12G, 16A) and Adam Poitras has 26 (17G, 9A).
  • The main faceoff specialist for the 'Hounds, Eric Pacheco, is 104-227 (.458) with 63 ground balls on the season.
  • On the defensive end, Matt Hughes and Cam Wyers have combined for 35 caused turnovers and 62 ground balls.
  • In goal, Luke Staudt has started 10 games for Loyola and has a 5-5 record. He owns an 11.13 GAA and a .546 save percentage to go with 119 saves on the year.

  • The Hoyas and Greyhounds have played 44 times with Loyola owning a 36-8 series advantage.
  • Georgetown won the last meeting, a 14-7 victory on the Hilltop in 2022.
