WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's and women's tennis teams are in Cayce, South Carolina to compete in the BIG EAST Championship Presented by JEEP. The women's team was seeded fifth out of 11 and will take on No. 4 St. John's in the Quarterfinals on Friday at 12:45 p.m. The men were placed third out of eight and will face No. 6 Xavier in the Quarterfinals on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Earlier this season the women fell to St. Johns in a close 4-3 decision on the Hilltop. The Hoyas fell 1-0 after dropping the doubles point. Freshmen Ashley Kennedy and Paige Gilbert battled through three sets to earn GU two singles victories. 

The men will face Xavier for the first time this season. The last meeting between the Hoyas and the Musketeers came on February 14, 2020. The Hoyas captured a 4-3 road victory over Xavier.
