Box Score QUEENS, N.Y. – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team clinched at least a share of the 2023 BIG EAST regular season championship with an 18-12 road victory at St. John's on Saturday afternoon. The Hoyas improve to 9-3 overall and remain an undefeated 4-0 in league play while the Red Storm fall to 0-13 and 0-4 in conference play.

How it Happened
- Georgetown outscored the Red Storm 7-2 in the opening frame, posting the first three goals of the game before their hosts got on the board at the 8:35 mark. A Solomon goal made it 4-1 in favor of the Hoyas before Kelly scored three of the next four goals of the game to give the Blue & Gray a 7-2 lead after the opening 15 minutes of action.
- In the second, both squads traded goals in the opening five minutes before the Hoyas put together a string of three goals, one each from Solomon, Wray and Dordevic, to lead 11-3. Not backing down, the Red Storm responded late with three unanswered goals in a two-minute span to pull within five at an 11-6 halftime lead for Georgetown.
- St. John's opened the scoring in the second half at the 12:57 mark, but Georgetown responded with Kelly's fourth goal of the game just 50 seconds later. The Hoyas would go on to outscore the Johnnies 3-0 the rest of the frame to take a 15-7 lead going into the final quarter.
- In the fourth, the St. John's started on a 3-0 run to make it 15-10 but the Hoyas responded with three-straight to lead 18-10 with 3:39 remaining to put the game away.
St. John's Notes
- Brian Kelly led the Red Storm with three goals while Sean Duffy added two goals and an assist.
- Defensively, Noel Harry was credited with two caused turnovers and had two ground balls.
- In goal, Kyle Munson had 12 saves in the loss.
Hoya Notes
- Reilly's 16 ground balls are the second most in a game in Georgetown history, matching his own mark set in 2021 against Marquette.
- Georgetown has now won eight-straight following an 0-3 start to the season.
