WASHINGTON – Georgetown University All-American Ty Banks helped Team Canada win the inaugural Pan-American Men's Lacrosse Championship in Kingston, Jamaica on Monday. Canada defeated the United States with a come from behind 9-8 victory in the championship game.
 
The Pan-American championship served as a qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men's Championship in Japan. Along with Canada, the U.S., Jamaica, Haudenosaunee and Puerto Rico all qualified to advance to the 16-team draw next June.
 
Banks is a three-time USILA All-American, earning second team honors in 2026 and 2025 as well as honorable mention recognition in 2024. The reigning back-to-back BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, he also won consecutive Minto Cups with the Coquitlam Adanacs in 2024 and 2025.
