WASHINGTON – Senior captain Pieter DeGroot has been named BIG EAST Male Golfer of the week as announced by the conference on Monday. DeGroot finished tied for fourth at the Rutherford Intercollegiate and the Hoyas finished in third overall in the event.

• The Potomac, Maryland native was fantastic for the Blue & Gray in the final outing of the regular season as he turned in cards of 69, 69 and 71.
• DeGroot sank seven birdies and had only three bogeys in 54-holes. He also played a stellar bogey free round in round two.
• The senior is the second Hoya to earn conference honors this season as Max Hutter earned the honor of Male Golfer of the Week after the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate.

The Blue & Gray will be back in action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 28-30 at the BIG EAST Championships. The event will be held in Hardeeville, South Carolina at Riverton Pointe Country Club and Golf Course.
