Bowen Named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, Dordevic Earns Honor Roll Nod

WASHINGTON – Two Georgetown University men's lacrosse players were recognized with BIG EAST weekly accolades, as announced by the league office on Monday. Will Bowen was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week while Tucker Dordevic was selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. The duo led the Hoyas to a 12-8 win over No. 10/11 Villanova for their second-straight undefeated BIG EAST regular season, third-consecutive BIG EAST Regular Season Championship and the top-seed at the upcoming BIG EAST Championship, presented by JEEP this week in Milwaukee.

Bowne was credited with three caused turnovers and a ground ball in the win over the Wildcats. He marked All-American Matt Campbell 1v1 in the game, holding him to just one goal and two assists with only 1 point, an assist, coming 6v6. The Hoya defense held Villanova to just 34 shots and 15 shots on goal while the Wildcats' eight goals were more than five goals fewer than their season average.

Dordevic led the Hoyas with five points on four goals and an assist against Villanova. He posted a hat trick in the first quarter and has scored at least four goals in eight games this year, including each of the last five.

The Hoyas head to Milwaukee this week as the top seed at the BIG EAST Championship, presented by JEEP. Georgetown faces the fourth seed, Providence, on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. ET with the game shown live on CBS Sports Network.
