WASHINGTON – Two members of the Georgetown University softball team were selected to the All-BIG EAST teams for their efforts during the 2023 season, announced on Tuesday by the league office. Graduate student
Cameron Kondo earned a unanimous spot on the first team, while classmate
Mae Forshey was a second team selection for the second-consecutive season.

First Team All-BIG EAST
- Kondo led the Hoyas at the plate batting .331 for the season and starting all 48 games she appeared in.
- The outfielder managed 46 hits to go along with six doubles and a BIG EAST-best 13 home runs.
- The team captain also led the Blue & Gray in RBIs with 37 on the season, good enough for third in the BIG EAST.
- In just two seasons on the Hilltop, Kondo ranks fourth in career home runs with 20.
- She is also among the top five in season leaders in homers (13 – 2nd), runs (36 – 4th) and RBIs (37 – 5th).
- Kondo is just the third Hoya in program history to earn a spot on the All-BIG EAST First Team. The last selection was Elyse Graziano in 2014.

Second Team All-BIG EAST
- Forshey was second on the squad at the dish batting .316 and starting all 49 games of the season.
- She led the Blue & Gray with 50 hits and 12 doubles to go along with five home runs.
- The team captain leaves as the program leader in career doubles with 46.
- Forshey is among the top five in career runs (83 – 5th), hits (173 – 4th), home runs (18 – 4th) and RBIs (90 – 5th).
- This is the second-consecutive All-BIG EAST honor for Forshey who was named to the second team a season ago.
