Sam Milligan Elevated to Assistant Coach, Jacob Miner Elevated to Diving Coach

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's Swimming & Diving Head Coach Jack Leavitt announced on Thursday that Sam Milligan has been elevated to assistant coach and Jacob Miner has been elevated to diving coach.

"We're so excited to add Sam and Jacob to the staff," said Head Coach Jack Leavitt. "They both have great experience working with us as volunteers. The transition will be really easy so we can hit the ground running and building on the momentum we've created the past few seasons."

Milligan and Miner served as volunteer assistant coaches for the Hoyas during the 2022-23 campaign and helped the men's team earn its second consecutive BIG EAST Championship.

Milligan spent two years swimming for the University of New Hampshire before transferring to Georgetown for her junior and senior season. While at UNH, Milligan and her team won the 2018 American East Championship and she was named a 2019 American East Academic All-American.

While assisting with the Blue & Gray last year, Miner coached the Metro Dive Club's national development program and the junior olympic team in 2022-23. During the 2021-22 season, Miner helped the State University of New York at Geneseo capture the SUNYAC Men's and Women's Conference Championship title as a volunteer assistant coach. In addition, Miner also spent time as a diving coach for Claremont Pomona Dive Club and Revolution Aquatics during 2020-21 and was an instructor at the Island Empire Gymnastics Academy from 2016-19.

Miner graduated in 2020 from the University of Redlands where he dove in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. At Redlands, he was a five-time All-SCIAC medalist, three-time All-Region, and holds the 3-meter record for the UoR. The California native also trained with All Valley Divers and CAL Dive Club.
