No. 10/11 Georgetown Travels to Princeton

WASHINGTON – The No. 10/11 Georgetown University women's soccer team is set to face Princeton on Thursday evening in Princeton, New Jersey. The Hoyas enter the contest with a 4-0-3 record after tying then-No. 2/2 Stanford 1-1 on Sunday afternoon. Princeton enters the contest with a 3-1-1 record after dropping their most recent game to No. 6 Penn State 3-0.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Georgetown tied then No. 2/2 Stanford on Sunday afternoon 1-1 behind a goal from Emma Davis.
  • Henley Tippins had a goal and an assist last week scoring the game winner against Rutgers last Monday.
  • Cara Martin recorded her first start and first shutout of the season on Thursday against James Madison. Martin was also selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for her two performances last week.
  • Julia Leas was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Monday as announced by the conference. Leas played all 90 minutes in all three games for the Hoyas and made her 86th-consecutive collegiate start against Stanford on Sunday.
  • Tippins leads the team in points with four on the season off of a goal and two assists.   
  • Leas was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List earlier this season; this was her second time making the list. 
 
 
ABOUT PRINCETON
  • Princeton enters Thursday's match with a 3-1-1 record after dropping their last match to No. 6 Penn State 3-0.
  • Pietra Tordin paces the Tigers offense with seven goals and two assists on the season. Tordin leads the team in points with 16 through five games.
  • Tyler McCamey has logged 419 minutes between the pipes for Princeton and boasts a 1.29 GAA.
 
 
ABOUT THE SERIES
  • The Hoyas and Tigers have met three times before with the Hoyas leading the series 2-0-1.
  • The last meeting between the two sides was in 2021 and was a 1-1 draw. Cyanne Doyle scored the lone GU goal of the contest.
