No. 17/20 Georgetown Blanks Creighton 1-0

Box Score WASHINGTON – The No. 17/20 Hoyas downed the Creighton Bluejays 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in Omaha, Nebraska. With the win, the Hoyas improve to 6-1-3 on the season and 2-0 in BIG EAST play while Creighton slides to 2-4-4 and 0-2 in conference action.

Head Coach Dave Nolan
"Obviously we are very happy to get out of here with three points. The result was probably the best thing on the day for us as we never really got going in the game. Credit to Creighton, they played a very good game, in particular the first half we couldn't really figure out the way how to play the way we wanted to play. I was a little bit disappointed in our execution in the first half. We changed things around a little bit in the second half and it got a little bit better. While they didn't really have any clear-cut chances, they had some shots from distance and some scary moments on set pieces. I was more disappointed in us today, I never felt like we got going which is disappointing coming off of a very good performance up at St. John's. Our best performers today were Allie Augur in goal who was exceptional, Julia Leas and Brianne Riley as our two center backs were solid and Emma Davis did a good job for us when she came on the field. I think on the attacking side of the ball we never really looked dangerous and the moments we had we should have taken care of, and we didn't execute the way we should so it was a frustrating performance for us. We are happy to get three points on the road and get moving home after a long five days on the road."
