WASHINGTON - Georgetown women's tennis fell to Butler 4-2 in its first BIG EAST matchup on Saturday, January 28 before defeating Youngstown State 4-1 on Sunday, January 29. Both matches took place in Youngstown, Ohio.
Against Butler, Georgetown's duo of Emily Novikov and Paige Gilbert earned a 6-4 victory in the number three position. Novikov and Ashley Kennedy also earned singles wins as well.
In their next match versus Youngstown State, last week's BIG EAST doubles players of the week, Chloe Bendetti and Katie Garofolo-Ro, won their doubles match in the number one position. In singles, Bendetti, Novikov, Gilbert and Avantika Willy won their matches, securing the victory for the Hoyas.
