WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's men's and women's cross country teams had a successful trip to Princeton, New Jersey, with the women placing 1st in the 6k, and the men placing 2nd in the 8k. Both the men's and women's teams had four runners finish within the top 20 of fields that had over 230 runners.
ON THE RECORD
"I thought the men took a nice step forward from the Nuttycombe meet. I was really happy with how Abel Terra,
Lucas Guerra,
Luke Ondracek, and
James Dunne executed and worked together. We need to get our 5th runner closer to them but I'm confident that will happen soon. It was frustrating to be so close to the team win and not get it but that will be extra fuel for the BIG EAST. Overall this was a nice step forward as we head into the postseason." -
Men's Cross Country Head Coach Brandon Bonsey
"Racing a quality field at this time of the season - and especially with the team that Providence has - is always a privilege, a learning opportunity, and helps in chasing our best post-season racing. We have some work to do but we have faith that we can have our packs tighter, particularly those who served today as the middle of the line-up; they can feed off of each other even more. Individually Scrimgeour ripping the band-aid off was a great boost that started a string of quality races from teammates; now the challenge is finding the next level." -
