Georgetown Men’s Swimming & Diving Host NJIT

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's swimming & diving team will host New Jersey Institute of Technology on Saturday, November 2. Diving will start at 12:45 pm and swimming will follow at 1 pm.  

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • The men's team is coming off of a two-point road victory 151-149 over Villanova last weekend. 
  • Owen Watkins earned first place in the 50 free (20.52) and the 100 free (45.90) for the second meet in a row.
  • Jack Januario earned his third straight victory in the 500 free with his fastest time of 4:39.62 against the Wildcats. 
  • At Villanova, Ryan Mathis, Ansen Meyer, Troy Keen and Watkins took first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:32.47. 
ABOUT THE HIGHLANDERS
  • The Highlanders previously captured a 79-63 victory over Iona in their season opener on October 4. 
  • On October 12, NJIT took first over Howard and Saint Peter in the NJIT Invitational. 
  • Ilias El Fallaki was named the America East Swimmer and Rookie of the Week after breaking three records at the NJIT Invitational. Fallaki set two school records, including the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:32.82) and the 1,650-yard freestyle (15:44.05). His 1,650-yard freestyle time also established the pool record. 
  • The Highlanders will take on Villanova on Friday evening before arriving to the Hilltop on Saturday to face the Hoyas.
