WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's tennis team had senior captain
Jake Fellows travel to Rome, Georgia to compete in ITA masters from November 7-10. Fellows came up short of receiving a bid to qualify for the NCAA tournament after losing in the Round of 16.
Â
The ITA Masters is a four-day tournament consisting of Men's Open Singles, Men's Open Doubles, Women's Open Singles, and Women's Open Doubles. Fellows competed in Men's Open Singles, a 32-player event across the four days. Fellows needed to win three matches to make the semifinals, which would qualify him to make the NCAA tournament. Fellows came up two wins shy of that feat.
Â
ON THE RECORD - "ITA Masters was a great experience for Jake and Georgetown to represent the Big East Conference. Jake competed very well and came up just short against one of the strongest players in the country. This is a tough way to end the fall but it gives our program a lot of momentum heading into the spring season. Our group is motivated to put in the work before the spring begins to give ourselves the best chance to make a run at a Big East title." -
