WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's soccer team (12-3-4) earned an at-large bid to the 2024 NCAA Championships as announced by the NCAA on Monday afternoon's selection show. This marks GU's 15th tournament bid in program history and 13th-consecutive season making the NCAA Tournament.
 
 
First Round Matchup

• The sixth-seeded Hoyas will host Fairfield on Saturday, November 16 at Shaw Field in a noon matchup.
• This will be the second time the two sides have met in program history. The last time GU faced Fairfield was in 2010 when GU secured a 1-0 overtime victory.
• The Stags won the 2024 MAAC Championship defeating Quinnipiac 1-0.

How They Got Here

• Georgetown won the Regular Season Championship in the final regular season game of the year against Xavier. The Hoyas defeated the Musketeers 2-0 on October 31, securing their third-consecutive regular season crown.
• GU fell to UConn in the BIG EAST Championships semifinal 2-0. The Huskies went on to defeat Xavier in the BIG EAST Championships securing the conference's automatic bid.
• Eliza Turner and Natalie Means scored the two Hoya goals that clinched the regular season title.

NCAA Tournament History

• Last season, GU hosted Old Dominion at Shaw Field in the first round of the NCAA Tournament securing a 2-1 victory before eventually falling to St. Louis 2-1 in the second round.
• Georgetown has made it to two College Cups in 2016 and 2018. In 2016, GU was defeated by USC 1-0 in the semifinals and in 2018 GU lost to UNC in the semifinals in double overtime (1-0).
• This is the Blue & Gray's 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament dating back to 2007.
