Head Coach Dave Nolan
"I mean obviously we are very disappointed with the result, and we are probably more disappointed with the performance. I didn't think we had enough energy in the first half to deal with what they brought to the table. You have to give them a lot of credit for doing what they did.
The second half was much better from us, and we played more energized but credit to UConn, they never stopped, they kept their energy level up for 90 minutes and on the night, they deserved to win the game. Our group is bitterly disappointed as we hoped to be here on Sunday battling Xavier for another crown, but it wasn't meant to be. We have to be big enough to admit that we were beaten tonight, and we have to get ready for hopefully a national tournament game. There were a couple of crucial moments in the game tonight that I don't think we got the breaks. Sometimes in these games when they are tight and there is not much to choose between the sides you need a break to go your way sometimes and I didn't feel that we got a break when we needed it. Good luck to UConn on Sunday against Xavier."
