WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's 15th-ranked squash team won the Kurtz Cup at the College Squash Association Divisional Championships over the weekend at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia. The Hoyas swept No. 18 Bowdoin and No. 14 William Smith 9-0 before defeating No. 16 Williams in the title match.
Against the Polar Bears and the Herons, the Hoyas (14-8) used wins from Jesse Brownell, Brianna Jefferson, Aaru Kuthari, Ella Schoonmaker, Lindsay Lee, Mary Kacergis, Katie Hennessy, Sydney Bramen and Caroline Wilcox to seal the 9-0 wins.
In the title match against the Ephs, Brownell, Jefferson, Kuthari, Schoonmaker, Lee, Kacergis and Bramen all made it a 3-0 weekend to give the Hoyas their first cup championship since the program made the leap to varsity status in 2021-22.
