Box Score 2 WASHINGTON - Georgetown was defeated by DePaul in both games of its doubleheader on the road, 6-1 in game one and 5-4 in game two on Sunday, March 10. The Hoyas are now 10-13 on the season and 1-2 in BIG EAST play while DePaul is 6-16 and 2-1 in league action.

How it Happened

DePaul struck first with a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning.

Georgetown was unable to get much offense going through the first three innings, but limited DePaul to one hit in that span.

The Blue Demons went up 2-0 in the third inning after an error by the Hoyas allowed the DePaul runner to come home.

GU got a run back in the fourth inning after Kayla Dunn singled up the middle, bringing Gabby Park home from third.

After a scoreless fifth inning, DePaul earned four runs in the sixth to put them up 6-1.

The Hoyas got a runner on base in the seventh, but could not convert any runs, giving DePaul the win in the first game of the day.

How it Happened

DePaul scored two unearned runs in the first inning to give the Blue Demons an early lead.

Georgetown earned one run back in the third inning. After a two-out single from Claire Turner, Brooke Rebhan doubled to left center, bringing Turner home all the way from first base.

GU managed to get the bases loaded with two outs in the fourth inning, but were unable to bring any runners home.

Dunn did not allow any DePaul runners on base from the second to the fourth innings.

In the fifth, Rebhan tied the game by hitting a single which brought Kiaris Alvarado Rojas home from third.

Dayanara Campos notched two more runs for the Hoyas with a double, bringing Turner and Rebhan home to give GU a 4-2 lead.

DePaul tied the game at four with two runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth, then took a one run lead in the bottom of the sixth.

A lead off single by Turner put the tying run on base for the Hoyas in the top of the seventh, but they could not bring her home as the Blue Demons took the game 5-4.
