The Georgetown University coed and women's sailing teams began their 2024 spring seasons over the last weekends.  The coed team competed in three events, while the women's team competed in one. 

Georgetown Team Race at Georgetown

• The Georgetown Team Race is the first event in the MAISA team race series.  The Hoyas were grouped with some of the top teams in MAISA including Cornell, St. Mary's and Old Dominion.  
• Over the course of the two-day event the Hoyas went 7-1 and finished in first overall.  
• Sailing for the Hoyas was Mariner Fagan, Emily Panarella, Diego Escobar, Caro Gaston, Mateo DiBlasi, Addison Harris, Jeffrey Petersen, Enzo Menditto and Spencer Kriegstein

Old Dominion Team Race at Old Dominion
2nd of 6

• The women's team began its season at the Old Dominion Team Race at Old Dominion University.  
• Over the course of three rounds the Hoyas ended up with a record of 11-3 good enough for second place overall.  
• Sailing for the Hoyas was Piper Holthus, Audrey Fung, Morgan Rice, Alexis Tamm, Kelly Bates, Margot Gordon, Alexa Shea and Lucy Jervis.

John Jackson Team Race at Georgetown

• The John Jackson Team Race at Georgetown, named after John Jackson '03, is the premier event hosted by Georgetown in the spring.  
• The Hoyas hosted seven other teams from around the country for the two-day event.  
• Between torrential downpours and 48 knot puffs that bent masts the Hoyas emerged victorious with a record of 7-0 followed closely by Boston College (6-1), Old Dominion (5-2), and Tulane (4-3).  
• Sailing for the Hoyas was Mariner Fagan, Emily Panarella, Diego Escobar, Caro Gaston, Mateo DiBlasi, Addison Harris, Vaughn Slatoff, Lucy Jervis and Morgan Rice.

Wood Trophy Team Race at Harvard

• The Hoyas sent a team to Harvard to compete in the Wood Trophy Team Race.  
• Sailing on the Charles River is always tricky, but the Hoyas did well and learned a lot ending up fifth overall behind Harvard, Brown, MIT and Roger Williams.  
• Sailing for the Hoyas was Piper Holthus, Peter Barnard, Anna Brzezinski, Audrey Fung, Jeffrey Petersen, Enzo Menditto and Spencer Kriegstein.
