WASHINGTON - Georgetown women's tennis defeated Seton Hall 6-1 on Saturday, March 17 in South Orange, New Jersey. The Hoyas match against St. John's, originally set to take place on March 18, was canceled. GU is now 5-10 on the year and 1-1 in BIG EAST play.
Beginning in doubles, Georgetown's duo of Chloe Bendetti and Katie Garofolo-Ro earned a 7-5 win in the number one position for their seventh win of the season. In the number two position, Morgan Coburn and Olivia Ashton defeated their opponents 6-2 to secure the doubles point for the Hoyas.
In singles, Hoyas won five of the six matches. Bendetti, Avantika Willy, Ashley Kennedy, Coburn and Paige Gilbert all earned wins. Bendetti has now won three singles matches in a row.
