ABOUT THE HOYAS
- The Hoyas are beginning the outdoor track season after an impressive showing throughout the indoor season, concluding with the men finishing 21st at the NCAA Indoor Championships and the women finishing 23rd on March 8 and 9. Georgetown's performance saw eight Hoyas receive All-America honors.
- Joshua Paige will be looking to bring his recent successes in the 200m into the outdoor season after defending his title at the 2024 BIG EAST Indoor Championships for the third-consecutive season. His blazing 20.90 finish set a new championship record. In last year's outdoor season, Paige was named Men's Most Outstanding Track Performer for the second-consecutive year. He successfully defended his 100- and 200-meter titles at the league championships.
- Also at last year's BIG EAST championships, Grace Smiechowski finished sixth in the women's 400-meter hurdles (1:03.00), and will be looking to continue her success in the event this year. In the men's long jump, Christopher Pitt's season-best 7.04m was good enough for fourth place.
- At the 2023 Fred Hardy Invitational, the Hoya women had a strong start to the outdoor season, with a handful of Hoyas competing and Jadah Fitzgerald (57.55) and Smiechowski (59.13) taking third and sixth, respectively, in the women's 400m.
