Hoyas to Take on Xavier in BIG EAST Tennis Championships Quarterfinals

WASHINGTON - No. 3 Georgetown men's tennis will compete against No. 6 Xavier in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tennis Championships on Friday, April 19 at 9 a.m. in Cayse, South Carolina. 

The winner of the match will go on to play the winner of No. 2 DePaul and No. 7 Villanova in the semifinals on Saturday, April 20. The BIG EAST Championship will be held on Sunday, April 21.

 

What to Know

  • Georgetown finished the regular season with a record of 14-7 and 4-3 in BIG EAST play.

  • The Hoyas 14 wins are the most wins it has had in a season since 2011.

  • In GU's last outing, Georgetown defeated Villanova 7-0.

  • Jake Fellows leads the Hoyas with a spring season singles record of 18-2. Fellows also has 25 wins across the season.

  • In doubles, Georgetown's duo of Kieran Foster and Zamaan Moledina lead the team with a record of 11-4 in the spring season.

  • Xavier finished the regular season with a record of 4-17 and 2-4 in BIG EAST play. 

  • Georgetown defeated Xavier 4-3 at home on March 30 earlier this season.

  • Last year in the BIG EAST Tennis Championships, Georgetown defeated Xavier 4-1 in the quarterfinals before falling to St. John's 4-1 in the semifinals.
