WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's golf team is currently in seventh place after day one of the BIG EAST Men's Golf Championships Presented by JEEP. On the par-72, 7,158-yard course at Riverton Pointe, GU posted a team score of 302 on the day with
Max Hutter leading the way carding a 72 in the first round, good for a tie for eighth overall.
Hoya Results
- Hutter posted a first round score of 72 leading the Blue & Gray. Hutter sank five birdies and nine pars on the day en route to his opening round 72. The junior is currently tied for eighth overall after the first 18 holes.
- Jacob Finard carded a 79 over the course of the first 18 holes. Finard sank nine pars to go with two birdies on the day. Finard's 79 earned him a tie for 32nd after day one.
- Barnes Blake carded a 75 in round one a mark good for a tie for 20th overall. Blake sank two birdies and an eagle while chipping in nine pars on the day.
- Carsten Judge is tied for 43rd place after carding an 82 in round one. Judge tallied nine pars and two birdies on the day.
- Ryan Moylan had a solid round one carding a 76. The senior sank four birdies on the day and tallied eight pars. Moylan is currently tied for 22nd as three Hoyas are in the top-25.
Tournament Leaders
- Marquette is currently in first place at 3-over par (291). Seton Hall is in second at 4-over (292).
- GU is currently 11 strokes off the lead.
