Georgetown Women’s Soccer Announces 2024 Schedule Presented by MedStar Health

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's Women's Soccer Head Coach Dave Nolan announced the 2024 schedule presented by MedStar Health on Tuesday. This season, the Hoyas will play 18 regular season contests including 11 matches at Shaw Field on the campus of Georgetown University.

The Hoyas will play nine non-conference games, five of which are against opponents who made the 2023 NCAA Tournament. GU finished the season receiving votes in the final national poll of 2023. The Hoyas were once again crowned champions of the BIG EAST Conference for the fourth-consecutive season and the seventh time in the past eight seasons. GU's season came to an end in the second round of the NCAA tournament against St. Louis.

Georgetown will open the 2024 season at Shaw Field with a six-game homestand starting with the home opener on August 15 as the Blue & Gray welcome Vanderbilt to the Hilltop. After a week off, Georgetown will face Quinnipiac (August 22) and Sacred Heart (August 25) to close out the opening month of the season.

A contest against Lafayette will be the Hoyas' first test of September as GU will take on the Leopards on Sunday, September 1. Pepperdine will then visit the District for a Thursday afternoon contest before GU rounds out the week facing Penn State on Sunday, September 8.

The Hoyas will then hit the road for the final two non-conference games of the season taking on South Carolina on Thursday, September 12 and Princeton on Sunday, September 15.

A home match against the Creighton Bluejays on September 22 marks the start of BIG EAST action for GU. The Blue & Gray will then welcome Seton Hall to the Hilltop on Thursday, September 26 before hitting the road for its next two contests. GU will face the Connecticut Huskies on September 29 before traveling to Indianapolis, Indiana to face the Butler Bulldogs in a Thursday night showdown.

Georgetown will return home to face St. John's on Sunday, October 6 before hitting the road once again to face DePaul on October 13. GU will then travel to Providence, Rhode Island to face the Friars before returning to D.C. to take on Marquette on Sunday, October 20.

GU's final road trip of the year will be to Villanova as the Hoyas take on the Wildcats in a midweek contest on Thursday, October 24. The Blue & Gray will return to the Hilltop for the regular season finale as GU will face Xavier on Thursday, October 31.

Head Coach Dave Nolan

"My staff, and I have put together another incredibly challenging schedule for this fall with five of our non-conference opponents being NCAA Tournament Teams from 2023. This includes games against SEC powerhouses South Carolina & Vanderbilt, with an exciting home contest against Big 10 giant, Penn State, also included. In addition, we are very excited for our rematches against Pepperdine & Princeton and a tough home game versus Quinnipiac, three very successful programs who made the big dance last fall. Then we finish out with home games against Lafayette and Sacred Heart, both excellent teams with very experienced coaching staffs.

Once again, the BIG EAST will also give us all we can handle but we look forward to the challenge. The league is one of the strongest in college soccer and with new coaches and new styles in the league it will be hard to repeat as champions, but the girls are up to the challenge. The staff and players are very excited for what lies ahead."
