ABOUT THE HOYA WOMEN
  • All-American Chloe Scrimgeour will compete in the women's 5,000-meter run at the trials. She is one of seven athletes affiliated with a university competing in the 30-person first round field. Scrimgeour doubled during the NCAA indoor season and the outdoor season, competing in the 5,000-meter run in both championships. Scrimgeour took seventh at the NCAA indoor meet. At the outdoor championships, she did not finish as the race was less than 48 hours after her fifth-place finish in the 10,000-meter run.
  • All-American Melissa Riggins is set to compete in the women's 1,500-meter run. This NCAA season, she took fourth in the women's mile in a school record (indoor mile) time of 4:29.02 while finishing fourth at the NCAA outdoor 1,500m. Riggins will be one of 12 collegiate athletes in the field.

ABOUT THE HOYA MEN
  • Newly-minted NCAA Champion Parker Stokes will compete in the men's steeplechase at the trials.  Stokes is one of 11 athletes in the 30-person field to be affiliated with an NCAA institution.
  • A pair of Hoyas will compete in the men's 800-meter run in Tinoda Matsatsa and Tim McInerney. Since his NCAA season ended, Matsatsa has set a new school record in the event when the pair ran at the 2024 Penn Relays Summer Showcase. Matsatsa's time of 1:45.17 set a new outdoor 800-meter record as he finished second overall and was the top collegiate finisher. McInerney ran 1:46.76 and finished fourth and was the second collegiate competitor to cross the finish line. The previous school record was 1:45.73, set by GU All-American Joe White at the 2017 NCAA Championships.
  • All-American Abel Teffra will compete in the men's 1,500-meter run. Despite falling short of advancing out of the NCAA East First Rounds, Teffra managed a fifth--place finish in the men's mile at the NCAA indoor championships in March.
