WASHINGTON – The No. RV/21 Georgetown University women's soccer team is set to open its 2024 campaign on Thursday, August 15 as the Hoyas welcome Vanderbilt to Shaw Field for an afternoon contest. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Georgetown went 13-2-7 in 2023 with a mark of 6-0-4 in BIG EAST Conference play which was good enough to win a share of the regular season championship. The Hoyas boasted one All-American and six All-BIG EAST selections, including one major award winner. The Blue & Gray advanced to the NCAA second round a season ago and finished the season ranked No. 21 in the nation.
- Georgetown was picked first in the BIG EAST Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll for the second-consecutive season. GU earned 10 first-place votes followed by UConn with one.
- Georgetown returns 20 players from last season's squad that won the program's seventh BIG EAST title in the past eight years. The Hoyas defeated No. 17 Xavier 2-0 in the BIG EAST Championship as GU secured its fourth-consecutive conference crown.
- Five student-athletes who started in the GU's second round NCAA Tournament match last season return for 2024 (Natalie Means, Eliza Turner, Claire Manning, Erika Harwood and Henley Tippins).
- This season, Georgetown will face five teams in the non-conference slate that appeared in the 2023 NCAA Championship.
- Head Coach Dave Nolan enters his 21st season at the helm of the Hoyas. Nolan boasts a 271-92-61 career record and is 54-6-20 since 2020.
ABOUT VANDERBILT
- The Commodores are coming off a 8-5-5 campaign in 2023 which saw Vandy drop its final contest of the season against Tennessee 1-0.
- Graduate student Rachel Deresky returns for Vanderbilt after starting 18 contests in 2023. The forward led the team in point with 18 off of seven goals and four assists.
- Graduate goalkeeper Kate Devine returns in net for Vandy after posting an 8-5-3 record in 18 games in net. Devine logged 1,476 minutes in goal and boasted a 0.92 GAA.
