Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

RV Georgetown Blanks Quinnipiac 5-0

WASHINGTON – The RV Georgetown University women's soccer team defeated the Quinnipiac Bobcats 5-0 on Thursday afternoon at Shaw Field. With the win, GU improves to 1-0-1 on the season while the Bobcats fall to 0-1-1.

Head Coach Dave Nolan
"We are very happy to get the result and to have had the chance to get a lot of kids on the field. We got a little bit lucky with some of the goals and we have to accept that and be sharper in the final third. Some of our decision making needs to be better as well but I give their coach credit. It would have been very easy for them to come in and sit back and try to keep the score low, but he isn't going to learn anything about his team doing that. He made a conscious decision to come play us and show his kids maybe what that next level is and prepare them for their conference and going back to the NCAA Tournament. I am happy enough with how we played and the application as it would have been easy to stop at halftime, but I thought our girls continued to push. It was good to see Natalie get a goal for all of her hard work. I am glad we were able to get a lot of kids on the field and also give some a bit of rest before Sunday's game against Sacred Heart."

  • GU came out of the half and continued to press the Bobcats. Fifteen minutes into the half, Shay Montgomery struck for the Hoyas giving GU a three-goal lead.
