WASHINGTON – The No. 23 Georgetown University women's soccer team is set to host Lafayette on Sunday, September 1. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at Shaw Field on the campus of Georgetown University.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Georgetown is 2-0-1 on the season after a commanding 5-0 victory over the Quinnipiac Bobcats last week and a 2-0 win over Sacred Heart last Sunday.
- Lawson Renie was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, after anchoring the Hoya backline in 180 minutes of shutout action. Renie played a vital role in the Hoya defense allowing only one shot on goal in two games last week.
- Maja Lardner scored both Hoya goals against Sacred Heart as the senior notched her first points of the 2024 campaign. For her efforts, Lardner was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday.
- Anna Karpenko earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll while playing 90 minutes in goal across the two contests. The graduate student made one save while contributing to two shutouts en route to her second honor roll selection of the season.
- Against Quinnipiac, Esme Brayshaw, Natalie Means and Shay Montgomery all logged a tally in the goal column while Means also added an assist in her three-point outing.
- Georgetown returns 20 players from last season's squad that won the program's seventh BIG EAST title in the past eight years. The Hoyas defeated No. 17 Xavier 2-0 in the BIG EAST Championship as GU secured its fourth-consecutive conference crown.
ABOUT LAFAYETTE
- Lafayette comes into the match with a 1-1 record after its Wednesday contest against Mount St. Mary's was postponed. The Leopards defeated Siena in their season opener and dropped game two of the year 1-0 to St. Joseph's.
- Nadia Zaffanella returns for Lafayette after leading the squad in points a season ago. The sophomore tallied five goals and two assists for a team-best 12 points.
- Catherine Apker has played all 180 minutes in goal for the Leopards after making one appearance in 2023. Apker boasts a .50 GAA and has made 11 saves on the season.
