WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's cross country team competed in the Spiked Shoe Invitational this Friday morning. The men finished second in the 8k, with two of the top-five finishers being members of the Blue & Gray. Lucas Guerra (4th) led the men's team in their season's second outing.

ON THE RECORD - "I was very pleased with the men today.  Our top 4 Lucas Guerra, Birhanu Harriman, Luke Ondracek, and Alazar Teffra ran particularly well. Syracuse is one of the best programs in the NCAA and I liked how we raced them. We sat out some key pieces here and with everyone racing in 2 weeks at Wisconsin I think we will see a great result. This was Alazar Teffra's Georgetown debut and to see a result like that from him was very promising."- Head Coach Brandon Bonsey

 MEN (2nd, 70 points) – 8,000-meters

• Lucas Guerra (4th) and Birhanu Harriman (5th) led the way for the Hoyas, finishing in the top five.

• Luke Ondracek and Alazar Teffra finished in the top 20, giving the Hoyas four top-20 finishers.

• GU Point Scorers: 1. Lucas Guerra 24:58.3 (4), 2. Birhanu Harriman 24:58.3 (5) (2), 3. Luke Ondracek 25:08.7 (11), 4. Alazar Teffra 25:32.7 (19), 31. Derek Fearon 25:44.8 (31).

Georgetown men's and women's cross country will compete again on September 27 in the Nuttycombe Invite. The meet will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
