Georgetown Faces Princeton in Sunday Night Showdown

WASHINGTON – The RV Georgetown University women's soccer team is set to travel to Princeton, New Jersey to face the Princeton Tigers on Sunday, September 15. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Georgetown is 3-1-3 on the season after earning a hard fought 2-2 draw at South Carolina on Thursday night.
  • Senior Eliza Turner was spectacular on Thursday night scoring both of GU's goals against the Gamecocks. Turner recorded her first multi-goal game of the season and the first of her Hoya career.
  • Maja Lardner tallied her third assist of the season on Thursday on Turner's first goal. Lardner leads the team in points with 11, a mark good for third in the conference.
  • Claire Manning earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. This is Manning's second honor in as many weeks as the senior was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week last Monday. The Montclair, New Jersey native logged 78 minutes against No. 8 Penn State and helped the Hoyas log their fifth shutout of the season.
  • Esme Brayshaw, Shay Montgomery and Jocelyn Lohmeyer each have two goals to their credit. The trio has combined for 15 of the Hoyas 47 points this season.
  • Georgetown currently ranks fifth nationally in shots per game (23.83), 10th in the nation in corner kicks per game (8.50), 14th in GAA (.333), 14th in shots on goal per game (9.83) and is fifth in shutout percentage (.833).
ABOUT PRINCETON
  • The Tigers enter the match with a 4-1 overall record after defeating Drexel 2-1 on Thursday evening.
  • Heather MacNab paces the Tiger offense with a team-high five points this season. MacNab has recorded one goal and three assists in five games this season.
  • Tyler McCamey has been between the pipes for the Tigers in all five contests this year. In 450 minutes of action, McCamey has made 24 saves and allowed only three goals.
WHAT LIES AHEAD
The Blue & Gray will return to action on Sunday, September 22 as GU welcomes Creighton to the Hilltop for the Hoyas first conference game of the season.
