WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University Track and Field & Cross Country program will celebrate milestone anniversaries this upcoming academic year. The men's cross country program will recognize 100 years on the Hilltop, while the women in both cross country & track and field will be celebrating 50 years of representing Georgetown. As these milestones are celebrated throughout the 2024-25 season, there will also be an event to recognize the program's accomplishments in March.
ON THE RECORD - "Georgetown's rich tradition of Track & Field and Cross Country has seen a century for Men's Cross Country & a half-century for Women's Track & Field and Cross Country, and should certainly be celebrated. I'm extremely privileged to have had the opportunity to compete for Georgetown but even more honored and fortunate to be at the helm as both programs approach these milestones. I look forward to celebrating with many generations of Hoya who Bleed Blue & Gray and share fond memories of what we've accomplished over this time for our men & women who competed on the Hilltop. I look forward to welcoming home our Hoya Family to be a part of this wonderful occasion." - Director of Cross Country & Track and Field, Alton McKenzie
Alums and supporters of the program should mark their calendars for the weekend of March 21-23, 2025 for a weekend full of festivities to honor all the accomplishments throughout the program's history.
More details will be sent to program alumni and supporters in the coming months.
