Hoyas Host Seton Hall on Thursday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's soccer team will host the Seton Hall Pirates on Thursday, September 26. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. at Shaw Field on the campus of Georgetown University.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Georgetown is 5-1-3 on the season after opening conference play on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Creighton.
  • Maja Lardner was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after tallying the game-winner against Creighton on Sunday. Lardner paces the Hoya offense with 13 points this season. The senior has five goals, a mark good for second in the BIG EAST and three assists.
  • Cara Martin earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after playing all 90 minutes in goal in the GU's 1-0 victory over Creighton. The junior made two saves en route to the Blue & Gray's seventh shutout of the season. Martin boasts a 0.19 GAA in 463 minutes of action.
  • The quartet of Lardner, Eliza Turner, Esme Brayshaw and Shay Montgomery have combined for 29 of the teams 52 points this season.  
  • Georgetown currently ranks ninth nationally in shots per game (21.00), fourth in the nation in corner kicks per game (8.67), 15th in GAA (.444), 12th in shots on goal per game (9.33) and is fourth in shutout percentage (.778).
ABOUT SETON HALL
  • Seton Hall enters Thursday's contest with a 3-5-2 record and a 0-0-1 record in conference play. The Pirates drew Villanova in their BIG EAST opener 1-1 on Sunday.
  • Natalie Tavana paces the Pirate offense with five points on the season. Tavana, the 2023 BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year has two goals and one assist in 10 games.
  • SHU goalkeepers Anna Prawer and Avery Strohecker have split time in goal this season each playing 450 minutes. The Pirates boast a 1.00 GAA and have allowed 10 goals this season.
