WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's soccer team defeated the Seton Hall Pirates 5-0 on Thursday afternoon. With the win, GU improves to 6-1-3 and 2-0 in conference action while the Pirates slide to 3-6-2 and 0-1-1 in BIG EAST play.
Head Coach Dave Nolan
"Obviously, we are very happy to get the win as it is the most important thing at the end of the day. I thought we did some good things today as we changed our shape a little due to injuries. I thought it took us a while to adjust to people playing in different spots than they normally are and then we scored goals in crucial moments. The first goal after the half gave us what we needed which was being up 3-0 as it knocked out any fight they may have had. In the first half they had a couple of half moments where if we were not on top of our game, they could have gotten something out of it. It was great to get pretty much everyone on the field today which I was happy about. I was happy to see
Alexa Hadley get some time at the end, and she made a big time save to preserve the shutout which is important for our goalkeeping group. We have a tough game on Sunday up in Connecticut and we have to get ready for a tough match."
