WASHINGTON – Playing its first matches of the New Year, Georgetown University's 13th-ranked squash team went 2-1 over the weekend in neutral-site action in Annapolis, Maryland. The Hoyas dropped their opener 5-4 to No. 15 Amherst before defeating No. 16 Middlebury 8-1 and No. 14 Williams 5-4 to salvage the weekend split.
With the wins, the Hoyas improve to 3-5 on the season.
Both
Cici Curran and
Ana Margarita Quijano won all three of their matches over the weekend while Sanah Sayed,
Rachel Mashek,
Aaru Kuthari and
Sydney Bramen each won twice.
Quijano improves her season record to 6-2 to pace the Blue & Gray while Curran and Mashek are both 5-3 overall. Bramen returned to action for the first time this season after studying abroad during the fall semester.
