Georgetown Swimming & Diving Falls to William & Mary

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's & women's swimming & diving teams fell to William & Mary at McCarthy Pool on Saturday afternoon. The men's team lost 133-129 while the women's team fell 178-84. 

ON THE RECORD

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Kaitlin Lee placed second in the 1000 free with a time of 10:23.35 and the 500 free with a time of 4:58.52.
  • Angelica Reali captured first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.56.
  • In the 200 backstroke, Allie Sanchez earned first with a time of 2:01.11.
  • Maddie Haley and Sanchez placed second and third in the 100 backstroke with times of 55.83 and 56.68, respectively.
  • In the 50 free, Natalie Aiken placed second with a time of 23.93.
  • Kathryn Jewell earned first in the 1M dive with a score of 262.35 while Audrey Dietz earned first in 3M dive with a score of 278.33.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Nicolas Santiago broke a pool and program record with a score of 356.18 in the 1M dive. 
  • Ryan Mathis, Bailey De Luise, Troy Keen and Owen Watkins earned first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:29.22. 
  • In the 200 free relay, Mathis, De Luise, Watkins and Connor Brennan took first place with a time of 1:21.16.
  • In the 200 breaststroke, Nick Pezzella (2:02.89), Stephen Kim (2:03.90) and Ben Tunila (2:04.88) placed first, second and third, respectively.
  • In the 1000 free, Wilson Tunila and Jack Januario took first and second place with times of 9:19.13 and 9:21.61, respectively. Tunila (4:31.68) and Januario (4:35.96) also took first and second in the 500 free, respectively.
  • De Luise and Pezzella finished in second and third place in the 100 breaststroke with times of 55.34 and 55.52, respectively.
  • Watkins took second in the 50 free (20.29) and the 100 free (44.91). 
  • In the 200 backstroke, Ronan Krauss placed second with a time of 1:49.46.
  • In the 3M dive, Charlie Reichle placed first with a score of 339.75.
  • In the 400 IM, Jack Brearto (3:58.83) finished in first place while Krauss (4:01.43) came in second place.
