WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's soccer team downed DePaul 2-0 on Saturday night at Shaw Field. With the win, GU improves to 10-2-2 overall and 6-0 in BIG EAST play, while DePaul falls to 3-9-1 and 0-4-1 in league action.
Head Coach Dave Nolan
"Overall, I think we have to be pleased with the performance, which ended up being better, much better. In the second half, in getting the three points. I mean, it's never easy. These kind of games, you're expected to have success, and these teams are all fighting for BIG EAST points as we get towards the middle of the BIG EAST season. So I felt we managed it pretty well. I don't really feel we gave them much. They had one shot in the first half where we kind of fell asleep, and we talked about that, because I felt that was the only way they would get us if we fell asleep, we were a little bit unlucky not to get maybe one or two more. But it was great that we got to play all of our seniors on Senior Night and now we have to get ready for Providence on Wednesday night here at Shaw."
