Georgetown Football Welcomes Colgate

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team (3-3, 0-1 PL) is back on the Hilltop to resume conference action against Colgate on Saturday, October 18. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at Cooper Field.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

  • Jimmy Kibble's Hail Mary touchdown catch earned the Georgetown football team a 27-24 victory over Morgan State during Homecoming weekend at Cooper Field. The Hoyas are now 3-3 on the season and 0-1 in conference action.
  • Kibble led all GU receivers with five catches for 110 yards and one touchdown. The senior's 49-yard game-winning touchdown was his longest reception of the season. Kibble now has 2,055 career receiving yards and is now fourth in program history.
  • Quarterback Dez Thomas II completed 16 passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns. The senior also led the GU ground game with 13 carries for 91 yards and one touchdown.
  • On defense, GianCarlo Rufo leads the Hoyas with 54 tackles (27 solo, 27 assists) while Cooper Blomstrom leads with 2.5 sacks for a loss of 17 yards and three quarterback hurries.

ABOUT THE RAIDERS

  • Colgate is coming off a 24-19 loss to Richmond University at home.
  • This is Head Coach Curt Fitzpatrick's first season with the Raiders.
  • Senior Treyvhon Saunders leads the Raiders offense with 700 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
  • Sophomore Cole Fulton dominates Colgate's ground game with 44 rushes for 263 yards and two touchdowns.
  • On defense, senior Dane Picariello has tallied 39 tackles (23 solo, 16 assists) and sophomore Paul-Marie Dogui has 3.0 sacks for a loss of 10 yards.

ABOUT THE MATCHUP

  • Georgetown and Colgate will meet for the 22nd time in program history. The Hoyas are 1-20 against the Raiders.
  • The last time the Hoyas beat the Raiders was a 40-17 victory on the Hilltop in 2011.
