Men’s Lacrosse Announces 2025 Team Awards

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team held its 2025 Team Awards at the annual banquet on Saturday. Honors for the seven-time reigning BIG EAST Champions included Aidan Carroll with the William Corcoran Memorial Trophy as the Team MVP, Fulton Bayman as the Gewirz Award to Outstanding Offensive Player, Ty Banks as the Gewirz Award to Outstanding Defensive Player, Lucas Dudemaine as the Jason "Prof" Decker Unsung Hero, Joe Vranizan as Most Improved Player and Will Van Dyke with the Leo H. McCormick Service Award.

Aidan Carroll | Attack

Carroll capped his Georgetown career with USILA Second Team All-America honors after leading the Hoyas with 50 goals and 27 assists for 77 points. He is just the third Hoya in program history with at least two 60-point seasons in a career. Carroll was also named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and became the only player in league history to be named BIG EAST Tournament Most Outstanding Player twice after setting BIG EAST records for goals (8) and points (10) in a tournament game en route to Georgetown's NCAA record seven-straight conference tournament titles. He added six goals and two assists against Duke in the NCAA Tournament First Round and tallied a pair of goals against Maryland in the NCAA Quarterfinals. Carroll was previously named a USA Lacrosse Magazine and Nike Lacrosse Media Honorable Mention All-American as well. He was selected seventh overall in the Premier Lacrosse League College Draft by the Maryland Whipsnakes and was a finalist for PLL Rookie of the Year honors.
 
Gewirz Award to Outstanding Offensive Player

Bayman started all 17 games for the Hoyas in his lone season on the Hilltop after transferring to Georgetown from Notre Dame. He scored 31 goals to go with 32 assists for 63 points in 2025, 14th most in a single season at Georgetown. Bayman was named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team after posting eight points (3G, 5A) against Marquette in the semifinals and a goal and three assists against Villanova in the finals. He had four goals and an assist against No. 14 Richmond and another four goals and an assist against No. 6 Duke in the NCAA First Round. Bayman also posted a hat trick against High Point and had six points (1G, 5A) against Providence.
 
Gewirz Award to Outstanding Defensive Player
Ty Banks | Defense

Banks earned USILA Second Team All-America honors after leading Georgetown's top-10 defense to allow just 9.12 goals per game. As Georgetown's top cover defenseman, he was credited with 22 caused turnovers to go with 45 ground balls on the season while adding two goals and two assists on the offensive end. Banks led a Georgetown defense that held its opponents to single digit goals in 11 of their 17 games this season. He was previously named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year as well as a USA Lacrosse Magazine Second Team All-American and a Nike Lacrosse Media Honorable Mention All-American.
 
Jason "Prof" Decker Unsung Hero Award

Dudemaine returned from injury to play the final six games of the season and provided the Hoyas with an offensive spark down the stretch en route to their seventh-straight BIG EAST Championship and an NCAA Quarterfinals appearance. He scored seven goals with six assists in those games, including four goals against Marquette in the BIG EAST Semifinals and two goals with two assists against No. 3 Maryland in the NCAA Quarterfinals.
 
Most Improved Player
Joe Vranizan | SSDM

In his four years on the Hilltop, Vranizan had developed from a recruited attackman to close defenseman before settling in as one of Georgetown's top defensive midfielders. As a senior in 2025, he played in all 17 games and was credited with six caused turnovers to go with 24 ground balls while scoring three goals on the offensive end. With Vranizan on the rope unit, Georgetown has held 24 of their 34 opponents to 10 goals or fewer over the past two seasons and a top-10 defense allowing just 9.12 goals per game in 2025.
