WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's field hockey team closed out its home schedule with a 3-1 victory over visiting Queens on Senior Day at Kehoe Field on Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Hoyas improve to 5-11 overall while the Royals fall to 3-12.
 
Georgetown's five wins on the year are the most in a campaign since the 2021 season.
 
Sydney Yodh, Elizabeth Rossotti and Ellie Johnson each scored for the Hoyas. Elena Perez Alejandro had a pair of assists while Lily Jamison and Anna Gill both had one.
 
Ella Fahey picked up her second win between the pipes on the weekend and collected one save.
 
After a scoreless first half, Georgetown scored first in the waning moments of the third quarter. Awarded a penalty corner, Perez Alejandro inserted to Jamison waiting at the battery, allowing Yodh to power her shot past the Queens goalie for her team-leading fifth goal of the season.
 
The Hoyas added another goal just 2:12 into the fourth quarter as Rossotti collected a long downfield pass from Gill before scoring far post to give GU a 2-0 lead.
 
Queens battled back, scoring less than a minute later at the 48:07 mark after a penalty corner to pull within one down 2-1.
 
Another Georgetown goal with 5:15 to play from Johnson gave the Blue & Gray the cushion they needed to seal the win down the stretch.
 
Georgetown outshot Queens 21-2 in the game and was awarded 10 penalty corners to the Royals' one.
 
Grace Wagner had the lone goal for Queens with an assist from Hensley Miller. Madison DeStefano had nine saves in the loss for the Royals.
