Field Hockey Readies for Weekend Homestand

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's field hockey team is back in action on the Hilltop this weekend, hosting seventh-ranked Liberty in BIG EAST action on Friday before welcoming Rider to the Nation's Capital on Sunday afternoon.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (3-8, 0-3 BIG EAST) is coming off a weekend split that included a 5-0 setback against Villanova in BIG EAST play and a 2-0 shutout at Towson.
  • Elizabeth Rossotti scored the game winning goal against the Tigers courtesy of an assist from Colleen Maloney. Ellie Johnson scored in the game as well.
  • Ella Fahey had a pair of saves between the pipes against Towson, securing Georgetown's first shutout since the 2022 campaign.
  • On the year, Sydney Yodh paces the Hoyas with three goals and two assists for eight points while Izzy Lee is right behind with three goals and an assist for seven points.
  • Katherine Malloy, Lily Saal and Caroline Suko all have four points for the Blue & Gray.
  • In goal, Fahey has a 1.48 goals-against average to go with 27 saves and a .730 save percentage while Alex Duff has a 2.86 GAA with 27 saves and a .675 save percentage.
Scouting No. 7 Liberty
  • Friday's game is set for 1 p.m. at Kehoe Field.
  • The Flames are 9-1 (3-0 BIG EAST) on the year with their only loss coming against No. 2 North Carolina.
  • Lou Combrinck leads Liberty with five goals and nine assists for 19 points while Dara Semmartin has five goals and eight assists for 18 points. Zoe Gaillard (12), Josefina Tomasi (11) and Morena Giacosa (10) each have double-digit points as well.
  • In goal, Diane Saint Martin has played every minute in cage and boasts a 0.90 GAA to go with 26 saves and a .743 save percentage.
  • Georgetown and Liberty last met in 2025 with the Flames winning 6-0 in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Scouting Rider
  • Sunday's contest is slated for a noon start. The Broncs host Saint Francis on Friday before taking on the Hoyas.
  • Rider is 5-5 on the year and have won four-straight games following a 4-3 double overtime victory at La Salle over the weekend.
  • Valeria Perales leads the Broncs with eight goals and two assists for 18 points while Anna Finn has five goals and three assists for 13 points.
  • In goal, Jade Regnart has played all but 30 minutes between the pipes with a 2.37 GAA, 65 saves and a .730 save percentage.
  • Georgetown and Rider last played in 2024 with the Broncs winning 3-2 in Towson, Maryland.
