Georgetown Men’s Basketball Hosts Binghamton for Midweek Matchup

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team is set to host the Binghamton Bearcats in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, November 12, at Capital One Arena. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. in the District.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • The 2025-26 season marks the third year under Head Coach Ed Cooley. In his second season, Cooley guided Georgetown to doubling its wins from the season before and finishing with an overall record of 18-16 and 8-12 in BIG EAST play. The squad earned a bid to the inaugural College Basketball Crown, advancing to the semifinals before falling to eventual Crown Champions Nebraska.
  • In its last outing, Georgetown defeated the University of Maryland Terrapins, 70-60, on Friday night at XFINITY Center in College Park. Malik Mack led a trio of Hoyas in double figures with 19 points on five made baskets, including three triples and a perfect 6-for-6 from the line, adding eight rebounds and two steals. KJ Lewis followed with 16 points, nine rebounds, and three assists, while Caleb Williams notched his first double-double of the season with 14 points and a team-best 10 rebounds, also recording two blocks.
  • Lewis was named to the first BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll of the 2025-26 season following a 2-0 week for the Hoyas. Lewis led the squad tallying 15.0 ppg on 47.4% (9-19) shooting from the floor. He grabbed a squad-best 7.0 rpg while he dished out 2.0 apg and managed 2.0 spg.
  • The Hoyas opened the 2025-26 campaign with an opening night 87-70 win over the Morgan State Bears in the District at Capital One Arena. Lewis led a trio of Hoyas in double figures with 14 points on 4-for-7 shooting from the floor and a perfect 6-for-6 performance from the free throw line, adding five rebounds and three steals, while Mack scored 11 points and DeShawn Harris-Smith added 10.
  • A trio of Hoyas are scoring in double figures led by Lewis and Mack, each tallying 15.0 ppg while Caleb Williams manages 11.5 ppg.
  • Lewis leads the Hoyas on the glass with 14 rebounds on the season, followed by Caleb Williams  who has collected 11 on the season.
  • Mack, Julius Halaifoua and Jeremiah Williams paced the offense with five total assists after the first week of the season, followed closely by Lewis with four of his own.
  • Last month, Lewis was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Second Team and Mack was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Third Team. The Hoyas were also selected sixth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll.
 
ABOUT THE BEARCATS
  • Binghamton enters the matchup with a 1-2 start to the 2025-26 season.
  • The Bearcats closed the 2024-25 season with a 15-17 record and a 7-9 mark in America East action. Binghamton wrapped up the season with a first-round loss to fourth-seeded Alabany in the America East Championship.
  • In its last outing, Binghamton fell to Niagara University, 67-59, at Dr. Bai Lee Court in Vestal, New York. Demetrius Lilley notched his second straight double-double with 14 points, a game-high 14 rebounds, and three blocks. Jeremiah Quigley scored all 16 of his points in the second half and added three assists, while Zyier Beverly went 5-for-6 from the field for 12 points.
  • Beverly leads the squad with 40 points while averaging 13.3 ppg, followed by Quigly who has 32 points and has been averaging 10.7 ppg.
  • Lilley has tallied 27 boards on 13.5 rpg in the first three contests of the season, which leads the team on the glass. Beverly follows with 19 rebounds of his own.
  • Quigley paces the Binghamton offense with 15 assists on the season and Ryan Richardson is behind him with six of his own.
  • The Bearcats are led by Head Coach Levell Sanders, who enters his fifth season at the helm.
 
ABOUT THE SERIES
  • Georgetown and Binghamton will meet for the first time in program history.
  • This will be Cooley's second career matchup against Binghamton, as he enters the contest with a 1-0 record against the Bearcats.
  • The Hoyas hold a perfect 10-0 record against the America East and Cooley in 20-1 against the conference.
