Lardner, Martin, and Boodell Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors

WASHINGTON – After completing a historic regular season, three members of the Georgetown University women's soccer team earned top recognition from the BIG EAST Conference on Monday afternoon. Graduate forward Maja Lardner was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, senior goalkeeper Cara Martin earned BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week, and junior defender Isabel Boodell landed on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll following Georgetown's 4-0 victory over Xavier. The trio's performances helped the Hoyas close out the conference schedule with a perfect 10-0 BIG EAST record — the first in program history.

Maja Lardner | Gr. | F | Dallas, Texas

  • Lardner led the Georgetown attack in the 4-0 win, scoring twice to power the Hoyas past Xavier.
  • Her first goal came just minutes after the opener to double the lead, and she capped the night with a strike from the top of the box to seal the win.
  • The graduate forward has been a consistent offensive force all season, helping Georgetown maintain one of the top-scoring offenses in the league.
Cara Martin | Sr. | GK | Alexandria, Va.
  • Martin delivered another standout performance between the posts, earning her seventh shutout of the season.
  • The senior made eight saves against a Xavier side that outshot Georgetown 20-15, keeping the Hoyas in command throughout.
  • Martin's steady presence and leadership have anchored a defensive unit that allowed just two goals across the entire BIG EAST regular season.
Isabel Boodell | Jr. | D | Edgemont, N.Y.
  • Boodell played a vital two-way role in the win, anchoring the back line that neutralized Xavier's potent offense while adding a goal on the other end.
  •  The junior defender scored Georgetown's third goal of the match, heading home a set piece late in the first half to give the Hoyas a 3-0 cushion.
  • Her blend of defensive discipline and attacking impact helped secure the shutout and complete Georgetown's historic perfect season.
