Georgetown Football Hosts First Patriot League Contest with Richmond

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team (5-4, 2-2 PL) will host Richmond (5-4, 2-3) on Saturday November 8 in the first matchup since the Spiders joined the Patriot League this season. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at Cooper Filed.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Last weekend, the Hoyas fell 41-0 to Lehigh at Goodman Stadium.
  • On the season, Jimmy Kibble leads GU receivers with 47 catches for a career high of 819 yards and three touchdowns. Kibble now has 2,410 career receiving yards and is fourth in program history.
  • Quarterback Dez Thomas II has completed 90 passes for 1104 yards and five touchdowns.
  • Sophomore Savion Hart leads the ground game for GU with 124 runs for 571 yards and eight touchdowns.
  • On defense, GianCarlo Rufo leads the Hoyas with 83 tackles (42 solo, 41 assists) while Cooper Blomstrom leads with 3 sacks for a loss of 22 yards and eight quarterback hurries. 
ABOUT THE SPIDERS
  • The Spiders are coming off of a 17-14 victory over Fordham at home last Saturday. 
  • Senior quarterback Kyle Wickersham led the Spiders with 193 passing yards (23-of-35) and 44 rushing yards on 10 carries, accounting for both Richmond touchdowns.
  • On the season, Isaiah Dawson lead the Spiders with 32 receptions for 454 yards and four touchdowns. 
  • Peyton Seelmann leads the defense with 96 tackles (43 solo, 53 assists) while Camden Byrd leads with 5.5 sacks for a loss of 44 yards.
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • Georgetown and Richmond will meet for the 9th time in program history dating back to 1894. The Hoyas have a 5-3 advantage over the Spiders with a 2-1 record at home. 
  • The Hoyas last faced the Spiders on November 14, 2009 and fell 49-10 on the Hilltop.
