WASHINGTON - Georgetown University softball sophomore
Emily Strittmatter was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Monday. The awards come after a 3-0 week for GU that saw wins against Queens University of Charlotte (8-1), Wagner College (6-1) and West Georgia (10-4). This is the first BIG EAST weekly honor of Strittmatter's collegiate career.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
- Strittmatter started in all three contests for the Hoyas, where she went 3-for-7 with two homers, two RBIs, four walks and six runs scored.
- The sophomore had a slash line of .400/.500/1.286 at the Carolina Classic this past weekend.
- In Saturday's contest against Queens (N.C.), Strittmatter went 2-for-2 with two home runs, two RBIs, two walks and four runs scored.
- In the very next game against Wagner, she went 1-for-3 with a run scored.
- The sophomore is currently tied for fourth in the BIG EAST in home runs (3) and slugging percentage (.783). Strittmatter is also tied for fifth in the conference in runs scored (10).
