Swimming & Diving Earns Four Medals and Sets Two School Records on Day Two of BIG EAST Championships

GENEVA, Ohio – The Georgetown University men's and women's swimming & diving teams medaled in four events and broke two program records on day two of the BIG EAST Championships Presented by Jeep on Tuesday evening. The men are currently in first with 297 points while the women sit at fourth with 356 points. 

ON THE RECORD
"I was so proud of the way we came out today. The women dug deep in finals tonight and really got us going. The men had a couple of wins to really build momentum. I'm excited for tomorrow." - Head Coach Jack Leavitt on day two of the BIG EAST Championship. 

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jack Januario captured first place in the 500 free (4:23.20) for the second year in a row. 
  • In the 200 IM, Angelica Reali broke a school record while finishing in first with a time of 1:59.83.
  • Owen Watkins broke the program record for the third time this season while finishing first with a time of 19.71. 
  • Nick Pezzella finished in third in the 200 IM with a time of 1:47.34.
