WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio to face the Xavier Musketeers on Tuesday, February 4. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at the Cintas Center and the game will be broadcast on FS1 with Connor Onion calling the play-by-play and LaPhonso Ellis providing analysis. Georgetown enters Tuesday's contest with a 14-8 record and a 5-6 mark in league action following a 73-70 win over Butler on Friday night.

- On Friday evening, the Hoyas defeated Butler 73-70 at Capital One Arena. Micah Peavy and Thomas Sorber led the way for GU tallying 19 points apiece. Malik Mack chipped in 14 points rounding out the Hoyas in double figures. Peavy led the squad on the glass pulling down nine boards while Mack paced the offense with six helpers in the contest.
- On Monday, Sorber was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the sixth time this season after averaging 13.5 ppg on 47.8% (11-23) shooting to go along with 7.0 rpg in a 1-1 week for the Blue & Gray.
- Sorber leads a quartet of Hoyas averaging double figures posting 14.7 ppg, a mark that is tied for 13th in the BIG EAST. Peavy chips in 14.4 ppg, followed by Mack (13.1 ppg) and Jayden Epps (12.3 ppg). Georgetown, Marquette and Villanova are the only institutions with four players among the top 30 in scoring in the league.
- Sorber leads the squad on the glass pulling down 8.9 rpg, which leads the league, followed by Drew Fielder (5.4 rpg) and Peavy (5.4 rpg).
- Mack paces the offense dishing out 4.6 apg, which ranks eighth in the BE.
- Peavy is tied for 18th in the country and ranks second in the BIG EAST in steals per game, picking 2.3 pockets per game.
- Sorber has seven double-doubles to his name, ranking first in the league. The seven double-doubles rank first nationally among freshmen, outpacing Cooper Flagg (Duke), Ace Bailey (Rutgers), Jayden Quaintance (Arizona State), Donnie Freeman (Syracuse), Derik Queen (Maryland) and Elijah Price (Fresno State) who each have six.
- Defensively, the team is second in the league in scoring defense, allowing an average of 65.3 ppg. GU ranks second in the BIG EAST and 26th in the nation in field goal percentage defense (39.9%). The Hoyas are third in the league in steals per game (8.2) and are forcing opponents to commit 13.86 turnovers per game, which ranks fourth in the conference.
ABOUT THE MUSKETEERS
- In its most recent outing, Xavier (13-9, 5-6 BE) fell to Creighton 86-77 on Wednesday evening at the CHI Health Center. Ryan Conwell led a quartet of Musketeers with 20 points on a 7-for-15 effort from the field. Zach Freemantle (16), John Hugley IV (13) and Dailyn Swain (11) rounded out the Musketeers in double figures. Freemantle, Swain, Hugley and Marcus Foster all chipped in six boards apiece. Fremantle and Conwell paced the offense with three assists apiece. Xavier shot 42.42% (28-66) from the field, while shooting 37.50% (9-24) from behind the arc.
